Confederate Kerr Revolver, single action made during the Civil War. Most of these guns were sold to the South and this gun has the J S Anchor marking below the lower tang in the wood. It is clear and you do not have to get a magnifier to see it. This marking is considered to be a Confederate agent as this marking is also found on Enfield rifles. Gun works fine mechanically. Metal has a gray to brown patina with some light pitting. Grip was carried in such a way that it shows quite a bit of wear on the right hand side of the grip. We have owned guns like this where the owner rested his hand on the grip giving this same type of wear pattern. Very desirable Confederate used pistol.
