Description
Rare Confederate Dance revolver. Serial number 69. Army model in .44 caliber. This gun is all matching. Metal has been cleaned, and there is a casting flaw on the left hand side of the frame which was common with Dance revolver and Confederate guns in general. The grips have had some repair work done and there is some wood filler evident near the back strap. The grips are original and are numbered to the gun. This gun comes with a letter of authentication from Gary Wiggins who is the author of the book Dance and Brothers Texas Gunmakers to the Confederacy and a noted expert on Confederate items. These guns were made in Anderson Texas during the Civil War and are easily identified by the lack of recoil shield. It is estimated that only around 400 of these guns were made. Very rare desirable Texas manufactured Confederate gun!
