This device combines a 3x telescopic sight, red dot sight and polymer carry handle into a single unit and mounts to the AR36 receiver dovetail. The sight requires 2x LR1 cells (included)for the red dot sight to function, but the 3x scope is unpowered.

The Aiming Module for AR36 Replicas fromSpecna Arms combines a simple 3x telescopic sight, a red dot sight and a polymer carry handle all into one lightweight unit which mounts directly onto the AR36 receiver dovetail. This sight unit was designed to be issued with the AR36 rifle to the Bundeswehr, the German Army, and pre-dates the widespread adoption of the 20mm Picatinny rail.

The 3x telescopic sight is equipped with the “German reticle”, providing a fine crosshair with a more prominent ring for faster aiming. The eye relief of this scope is quite short, being approximately 1.5 inches, meaning you will have to have your eye quite close to the eyepiece in order to see clearly through the scope. As such, we don’t recommend this sight for those using full-face protection or larger full seal goggles. The reticle of the sight is crisp and visible and can be adjusted using an Allen key using the adjustment screws, found at the front left and top of the scope.

The red dot sight is positioned above the telescopic sight, and takes 2x LR1 cells (included). This red dot sight provides a single brightness setting and can be turned on by rotating the dial at the rear left of the red dot from the “0” position to the dash position. The red dot sight can also be adjusted using its own separate adjustment screws, found on the left side and the top of the red dot sight. The battery compartment can be found on the left side of the red dot sight, and can be opened either by hand or by using a screwdriver.

Along the top of the carry handle, we can find a front sight post, moulded into the design at the front. This sight is intended to be used as a backup sight in the event your red dot sight goes down mid firefight, as an emergency solution. To the rear of the front sight we can find two ports in the handle. These holes provide the mount for the Bundeswehr issue night vision sight on the real equivalent of this optic but are present on the Specna Arms version for added realism only.
