Description
NSN, made in 1850 by H. Aston, .54 caliber, 8 ½” round smoothbore barrel. Barrel is a grey patina with scattered darker oxidation visible. Barrel is marked “U.S./JH/P”, breech is dated 1851. Lock plate is stamped “U.S/H.Aston”, rear of the lock plate is marked with “MIDDTN/CONN./1850”. Action holds at half and full cock. Light handling marks are noted on the stock.
