US Surcharged Charleville French Musket. Very nice sharp 1763 Charleville musket with US surcharge marking on lock, barrel and stock. Gun has been converted to percussion in drum style conversion. Action works perfectly. Smooth gray to brown patina on metal with minor pitting just around nipple. These guns were sent by the French to the Americans during the revolution and were the primary arms used by the Americans during the revolution. The first official US martial musket. The 1795 was based off of the French 1763 Muskets. Very nice example of the very first US used martial arms!
